Govt announces €56m R&D investment for 180 firms

The Government has announced a €56m investment for research and development for 180 companies.

Nine "competence centres" are to be set up by Enterprise Ireland and the IDA.

Announcing the move the Tánaiste Mary Coughlan said the investment "will see companies who normally compete against each other actually coming together and sharing knowledge, risk and rewards".
